Psychoeducational Assessment Overview – Child/Adolescent

The purpose of the psychoeducational assessment for children and adolescents is to explore an individual's abilities for thinking, reasoning, problem-solving and academic skills.  Consideration of learning issues and other factors that may be impacting functioning such as attention, emotions and behaviour is included. This type of assessment usually takes 13 - 16 hours to complete, which includes testing, consultation with parents and school personnel, and a written report.  Specific requirements will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Adult Psychoeducational Assessment

The purpose of the adult psychoeducational assessment is to explore an individual's abilities and skills related to thinking, reasoning, problem-solving and academic skills. This assessment is usually sought when an adult is looking at returning to school, re-training within a profession, or for employment reasons. This type of assessment usually takes 10-12 hours to complete, which includes an interview, testing, consultation with others as appropriate, a feedback meeting, and a written report. Specific requirements will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
